What this covers

This covers marklinea.com, the website you are reading. It is run by Marklinea Software Private Limited.

It does not cover our product once you are a customer, or a live discovery call run on your own website. Those are covered by the agreement we would sign with you.

Analytics — only if you accept

When you first arrive, a bar at the bottom asks whether we may use analytics cookies. Nothing analytics-related runs before you answer.

If you accept, Google Analytics records:

• which pages you open, and in what order
• roughly which country or region you are in — not your street, not your address
• how you found us, such as a search engine, a link, or a campaign
• your browser and device type

If you decline, none of that is recorded, and every part of this site works exactly the same — Chloe included. Declining costs you nothing.

Either way, these stay switched off: advertising cookies, ad personalisation, and anything that would let another company follow you around the web. Not off by default — off, with no button that turns them on.

We load analytics through Google Tag Manager. Google handles this on our behalf and has its own terms.

Your email, if you give it to Chloe

Chloe may ask for your work email before starting a voice conversation. Giving it is your choice, and saying no does not shut the conversation down.

If you give it, we use it to reply to you about Marklinea and what you asked about, and to recognise you if you come back.

We do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for, and every email we send you has a way to stop them.

Chloe's greeting is a recording, not a microphone

When you land on the page, Chloe speaks a short greeting. That is a pre-recorded audio file. Your microphone is not used, nothing is listened to, and nothing is sent anywhere.

If a feature ever does need your microphone, your browser will ask you first, and you can say no.

What our servers log

Like nearly every website, our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs — IP address, time, which file was requested, and any errors. These exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are deleted on our host's normal schedule.

Who else handles this data

• Google — analytics and tag management, only after you accept
• Our hosting and content delivery provider — serves the pages and keeps the technical logs above
• Our email provider — delivers any email we send you

These are service providers acting on our instructions. They are not allowed to use your data for their own purposes.

What we never do

• We never sell your data. There is no price at which we would.
• We never run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• We never buy contact lists and email people who have not heard of us.

How long we keep things

• Analytics — two months. That is Google's default and we have not extended it. Google keeps aggregated totals, such as how many people visited a page, separately from this.
• Your email — we keep it as a record of our contact. We do not delete it on a timer. Ask us to delete it and we will, and you do not need to give a reason.
• Server logs — on our host's standard schedule, typically a matter of days.

Changing your mind

• Analytics — clear this site's data in your browser and the bar will ask again. Choose Decline and nothing further is recorded.
• Your email — write to us and we will delete it.
• A copy of what we hold — ask and we will send it.

We will not make this hard, and we will not charge you for it. We reply within seven days.

Children

This site is meant for people at work, buying software for a business. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.

If this notice changes

If we change something meaningful, we will update the date at the top. Where the change affects data you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
